***The annual Lodge Elections Meeting was held on Sunday, December 9th, at Fordham Prep. Kevin B. was reelected to a second term as Lodge Chief. Scott G. was elected to the position of Lodge Vice Chief. Sean B. was also reelected to the post of Lodge Secretary. In the last election of the day, Chris B. was elected to his first full term as Lodge Treasurer, having taken the job mid-term in June 2007. Heartfelt congratulations to the officers, and great success in the year ahead!
*** Ranachqua Lodge rechartered with a membership of 106 Brothers, down slightly from last year. The percentage rate of Brotherhood conversion remained about the same, somewhat lower than the hoped for standard.
*** The Lodge approved an increase in dues for 2008 at the December 9 meeting. The dues raised for the first time in many years to $15.00 in order to help offset spirally costs of mailing, printing, etc. The dues form is available online, and will be in The OWL. Please make every effort to get your payment in quickly, and to encourage other Brothers to do so. Remember, National OA policy states that only current, active, dues paid members of the Order of the Arrow may wear the Lodge flap or sash. The increase was necessary despite an increase of resale revenue generate by the Lodge's new issues in 2007. Speaking of resale items, it was also announced that the Lodge reached its target of raising some $800 for ceremonial team costumes and props through the sale of the special S31 fundraiser flap. However, the sale of neckerchiefs still lags slightly below the break-even cost.
*** The 2007 Fall Ordeal and Service Project was held on the weekend of October 12-14, 2007 at Alpine Scout Camp to great success with 11 new members inducted and a considerable amount of service rendered to the camp. There also was a Brotherhood Conversion and Ceremony. Congratulations to the new Brotherhood members, and a sincere welcome to our new Ordeal Brothers!
*** The new Lodge resale items are in and available at Lodge functions. This includes the standard Lodge Flap (S29), the new Lodge Vigil Honor flap (S30), and the Lodge's new Eastern Woodland standard flap (S31) which will raise money for the Ceremonies team to fabricate new ritual costumes. The new Lodge neckerchief (N15), the first since the 60th Anniversary in 1980,is also now available. See "New Resale" below.

Ranachqua Lodge is on the uprise and we could use as much involvement as possible. I hope to see more members at our Lodge meetings (which, by the way, are scheduled on our calender). The Vigil Honor nominees for 2006 and 2007 were announced at the
May meeting of the Lodge Executive Committee. Selected in 2006 were Matt Aronberg (Communications
Chairman) and Jaime Feliberty, Sr (Lodge Advisor.) Ranachqua is eligible to nominate three
brothers in 2007, and two of these were announced - Adam Aronberg (Unit Elections Chairman)
and long time member Joseph Acquafredda (currently Ceremonies Committee Advisor.) The induction
was held on June 15-16th at Alpine. Look here

*** The Founders' Awards for 2006 were presented at the May Lodge Executive Committee Meeting. Former Chief (current Vice-Chief) Justin Andreadis and Lodge Advisor Jaime Feliberty, Sr. were the recipients. Look here to learn about this award and see a listing of all the former recipients.
